Who is the Property Investment Coach?
Hi, I’m Liam Lewis, ‘The Property Investment Coach’ and I've been investing in property since 2019.
My journey in property began in 2018 when I made the decision to take control of my future, freedom and finances to finally escape what many people refer to as ‘the rat race’. In my case the rat race was shift work, for the last 12 years I've worked as a private sector chemical industry fire fighter, initially this was a very enjoyable job which gave me lots of job satisfaction and pride, knowing I was helping and making a difference, however working 12 hour shifts, weekends, bank holidays, Christmas day’s and missing important family occasions, this soon began to take its toll. The job satisfaction began to dwindle and the long hours began having a negative impact on my family life and relationships.
The idea of living that life until I was 65 years of age was disheartening therefore I decided to take action in order to live a life on my terms, financially free putting my family interests first.
The Dream
I was under no illusion that financial freedom would not come easy, but I was determined to achieve it and after some research I believed the best way to get to my destination was via property. During my research a quote really stuck with me, that quote read ‘YOUR NETWORK, IS YOUR NET WORTH’ after reading this, the penny dropped and I realised by investing in property I had an advantage on most people, that advantage came in the form of my best friend who is a qualified mortgage broker. The breakthrough moment occurred and I knew then if I leaned on his experience and skill set to build a property portfolio I could really make this work.
This in mind I began studying property in 2018, for a year I invested all my free time into learning the property strategies, I attended networking events, listened to podcasts, YouTube, read books, reached out to tradesmen, estate agents, solicitors and attended hundreds of property viewings in order to understand all the concepts of building a property empire, from acquiring finance, setting up a ltd company, packaging property deals to learning basic skills which may come in handy along the way.
For a while I was scared to commit to buying my first investment property, on several occasions having offers accepted only to pull out a few days later due to nerves, apprehension and not truly trusting the strategies I had spent so much time learning. However with every deal I pulled out of, the regret of getting further away from my financial freedom dream grew heavier, so I finally followed through and bagged my first investment property in 2019. The rest is history.
The Reward
The dream of 2018 is now very much a reality and by taking the leap of faith and diving head first into property I now very much live the life I once could only see on the horizon. By creating a passive income stream from property I have managed to achieve financial freedom in just 5 years giving me the flexibility to work on my own terms to suit the needs of my family. Not only has property given me freedom, it's also allowed me to build multiple businesses which grow from strength to strength with every project. Now I’m the conductor of my own life making money whilst I sleep.
My Promise
Speaking from experience, getting started and scaling from 1 to 5 properties is the hardest part. This is the growth stage, like being back at school, there is so much to learn and so much new information to take on board, but also similarly to a toddler learning to walk, you will fall many times and face many setbacks but aslong as you get back up time and time again you will eventually walk. This growth stage is important to build the foundations for your property future, selecting the right strategy for you and your circumstances, making sure you purchase correctly, saving money where you can, acquiring the right contacts, building your network, choosing your location and working with the right brokers, these variables will determine whether you go on to be successful. The first purchase is always critical, get this wrong and this can lead you down a path of destruction.
This in mind I am not promising to make you a millionaire through property over night, anyone selling this pipe dream needs to revaluate because property is a slow game, but I am promising you I can equip you with the knowledge, education, mindset and the network to get you from 0-5 properties and well on your way to a financially free life.
